PS: I’m Making Theme Changes

I may be updating this site and changing themes sometime soon. I’ve been exploring alternative looks for this blog and, although I have not decided on a particular one yet, am interested in switching to a layout that has some features this one lacks. If you see changes to the look and layout, it’s because I’m experimenting. It may abruptly change to look radically different, too. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Plus the host service I use plans to migrate content to a new server, but has not identified a date for that. I expect it to happen in 2021, but that’s all I know. The move promises faster page and post loading when completed.

That may result in a short downtime, as may any theme changes I make. Please be patient and return later to see the results. Thanks for your patience.

  1. I am also changing several plugins, counters, and statistics settings. The number of reads shown on any post will count from the day the new plugin was installed, not all-time visits or reads.

Plus I am adjusting the look to work with iPads and other tablets, since the default theme does not properly show the two-column format that the Windows/PC component shows.

And, of course, I’m tweaking visual elements…

  2. Changes made! Hope you like the new look. If you have issues with navigation, links, or anything else in this new design, please let me know.

And I expect to still tinker with the layout and the look until I get all the elements the way I want them.

  3. Damn, but I am still unable to make the counters show the former reads, just those hits counted from the time the new plugin was installed. That’s a pain and I’m not sure how to fix it because I don’t know where the database collects such information. Or if it is kept specific to a plugin like the older one I disabled, so it lost to the ether.

Even if I did find it, I wonder if I can change the PHP program to update it. MY coding days are long past me.
