The US dictator Donald Trump has consistently threatened Canada’s economy and our sovereignty since his inauguration. His threats to make us the “51st state” have so offended Canadians that it brought stiff resistance from Canadians who responded by boycotting travel to the USA and not buying products and services made or produced in the USA.
Let’s be clear: Canadians who still vacation in the USA are collaborators. Canadians who still support Trump are traitors. And that’s clear in the personas of the two most MAGA-loving Canadians: CPC leader and rage-farming Trump mimic, Pierre PoiLIEvre, and traitorous, anti-Canadian Alberta premier Danielle Smith.*
The boycott by patriotic Canadians has had a significant impact on the US economy because Canada is both the largest trading partner with the USA, and the source of the highest number of visitors. Our principled stand against US threats by its dictator and his cabal of sycophantic lackeys has cost the USA billions in lost revenue. In 2024, Canadian travellers generated almost $21 billion in revenue for Americans. Declining Canadian travel is expected to cost the USA at least $5.7 billion in lost spending. And so it should.
From MSN:
Canadians returning home by automobile totaled just 1.4 million in October, down a whopping 30.5% from the same period in 2024. The decline wasn’t as significant as the numbers in September or August, which saw a 33.9% and 34.8% year-over-year, but the fall was close. The decline also marked the tenth consecutive month that return trips by automobiles have dropped in 2025.
Air travel returns saw a significant year-over-year decline in October as well. Statistics Canada revealed that its data showed return trips were registered at 437,300. This was a 23.9% drop from October 2024. It is important to point out that air travel returns have fluctuated since Trump took office. However, every month since January 2025 has seen a decline in the number of Canadian residents returning from the United States by air.
From Forbes:
The number of Canadians taking road trips into the U.S.—the most common way of visiting—dropped by 35% last month compared to September 2024, according to data released Friday from Statistics Canada, on par with a 34% drop in August.
There was also a 27% decline in air travelers from Canada year-over-year, following a 25% year-over-year drop in August.
September was the ninth consecutive month of steep declines in inbound Canadian travel, with double-digit year-over-year drops in both car and air travel to the U.S. every month since April.
CBC reports that
Canadians traditionally make up the largest group of international tourists to the U.S., totalling 28 per cent of its 72.4 million visitors in 2024.
However, Canadian travel to the USA is still way too high, showing the toxic influence of MAGA in Canadian culture and politics. I realize that many Canadians have to travel to the enemy state for reasons of business or family, but Canadian vacationers to the US now, this far into Trump’s dictatorship and continuing threats, are quislings. We have to do better and fight harder.
Changes to border-crossing rules mean Canadians staying for longer vacations must register first, and can be photographed and fingerprinted (and charged $30 USD for the process), and their mobile and other computing devices can be opened and searched for any anti-Trump posts or comments. Plus, the new pro-gun/pro-mass shooting open-carry law in Florida makes the state considerably less safe than even before.
If you care about Canada, if you have any patriotism for our nation, stay away from the USA until Trump and his minions no longer control the administration.
Is the U.S. starving for Canadian travellers? | About That.
Notes:
* As I’ve written before, Trump never meant to make Canada into a US state, but rather into an occupied colonial property where he would allow corporations to strip away our resources and restrict our rights. Puerto Rico has been a colony since 1898, when the US invaded. Despite more than a century of asking, it has never been granted state status. Why would anyone think Canada would fare better? Okay, PR is full of brown-skinned people, and the racists in the US government have long fought against giving the island statehood because of it. Canada, however, has a high percentage of left-leaning voters who would likely vote Democrat and thus end the MAGA regime. So the “promise” of statehood is just another Trump lie.
